Beringharjo Market

Beringharjo Market is a Jogja's main market, 800 m north of the kraton. Beringharjo Market is a lovely and fascinating place. The renovated front section has a wide range of batik - mostly inexpensive batik cap (stamped batik) -  while the second floor is dedicated to cheap clothes and shoes.

Most interesting of all, thought, is the old section towards the back. Crammed with warungs and stalls selling a huge variety of fruit and vegetables, this is still very much a traditional market. The range of rempah-rempah (spices) on the first floor is quite something.

You need to explore in here to get picture of just how many products and different kinds of people are in here. A pretty cool place for a photographer wit a bit of persistence. Beringharjo Market : must visit place in Jogja.
